Under the Influence Marketing – A little Musical Content Madness
Wherein I finally get Gini Dietrich to sing!
Yes, every occasion is a content creation opportunity if you simply keep your eyes and mind open, as in this book signing event for Influence Marketing. I created a "mini-song" for the book, took along my trusty camera (frankly my iPhone would have sufficed, but a shotgun condenser mic makes a noisy bar at least a little bit more bearable) and then got the co-author present – Sam Fiorella – and his fans to sing-along. A little fun, and a lot of online sharing, ensued.
Content creation creates relationships
Getting people to participate in this bit of musical malarky would have been considerably harder had I not already established at least the beginnings of relationships with several of those involved. I had interviewed Sam Firorella's co-author, Danny Brown, for Branding Magazine. I had featured both Gini Dietrich and Sam McGinnis in my weekly alternative to #FollowFriday, #SocialSong Saturday. And I had even created a "guest song post" for Gini's popular blog Spin Sucks.
If you want to start relationships online that will have value in the real world, try offering before you ask, creating before taking. Being generous with your content creating abilities is one good way to demonstrate the content of your professional character.
